The Spirit Of Man Is The Candle Of The Lord

The Spirit Of Man Is The Candle Of The Lord

Greetings to All,

The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord (Prov. 20:27). When our spirit is in contact with the Holy Spirit it shines. But have you had those days when you don't feel anything...? Can our spirit once it is shining... become darkened?

There is no rise or fall with the Holy Spirit like the fall and rise of an ocean tide. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we have within us an ever flowing river of living water (John 7:38). Our inner life is with God... Where there is no variation or shadow due to change (James 1:17). We have a river of life to overflowing. It is abnormal for a Christian to feel at low tide in spirit... therefore we know the enemy is at work. The enemy will bring doubt and accusation trying to bring you further into darkness... therefore immediately when you notice a low coming over you... pray. Get into God's Word and feed your spirit. If you have backslidden make your confession to God. Then you will feel the flow return stronger than it was before, breaking the stronghold of the enemy.

If you have loosened the reins on the spirit, then tighten them up. Scripture says: the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets (1 Cor. 14:32) and woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit (Ezek. 13:3). It is important to exercise your will and keep it in cooperation with God. Man's spirit can run wild which is known as a haughty spirit (Prov. 16:18). We are to be watchful and maintain mastery over it so that we do not fall out from God's orbit. If we allow our spirit to grow cold... We will hinder the operations of the Holy Spirit. Only a yielding spirit can fulfill the thought of the divine Spirit and every one whom his spirit made willing (Ex. 35:21). Scripture says do not quench the Spirit (1 Thess. 5:19). Remember the spirit is defiled (2 Cor. 7:1) when it has yielded ground to sin. The spirit needs to be purified from its every defilement (2 Cor. 7:1; 1 John 1:9). The fruit of the Spirit is evident.

God requires us to cultivate a gentle spirit (Gal. 6:1). A gentle spirit can instantly stop in a short notice from God... just like Philip did when sent from Samaria to the desert. A gentle spirit is the spirit of a lamb, the spirit of the cross. Scripture says: when He was reviled, he did not revile in return, when he suffered, he did not threaten (1 Peter 2:23). Be fervent in spirit serving the Lord (Rom. 12:11). With a fervent spirit we serve the Lord endlessly. And a sign of a fervent spirit is serving the Lord always. My spirit rejoices in God my Savior (Luke 1:47). Our spirit should be light... not weighted down in heaviness of worry or sorrow. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self control. (2 Tim. 1:7). We must have a spirit of power towards Satan, a spirit of love toward mankind and a spirit of self-control towards our ownselves. A quiet spirit which in God's sight is very precious (1 Peter 3:4), to aspire to live quietly (1 Thess. 4:11). We should serve in newness of spirit (Rom. 7:6). You should feel always refreshed, soaring like eagles. Do not put new wine from the Lord in your old wine skins.

We are to be holy in body and spirit (1 Cor. 7:34). Let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit (2 Cor. 7:1). An unholy spirit leads people into error. Without holiness no one can see the Lord (Heb. 12:14). Become strong in spirit (Luke 1:80). Our spirit is capable of growth and should increase gradually in strength. Countless times our strength is too weak to wrestle with the enemy allowing the flesh to rule. As a believer moves according to the spirit and not the flesh, he will gain increased power of the Holy Spirit. Ye stand fast in one spirit (Phil. 1:27). There should be no wall between brothers and sisters in Christ, for we are one with Christ in God. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit (Gal. 6:18). The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit (Philemon 25). We will always find the Lord's grace to help us in time of need.

God Bless,

Eve
