Truth

==================

To All,
Let us discuss the word Truth. The Old Testament views truth as an essential quality of God, signifying His reliability, dependability, and faithfulness. As applied to man, truth meant that the individula was consistent in his actions and that he conformed to God's will, as revealed in the Law. Truth in the New Testament is more than something merely to be thought or believed; it is something to be done. The word is often used as an equivalent to Christianity, or the revelation of God in Christ. Acceptance of and dedication to this truth equips men for fellowship with one another and acceptance by God.

God is Truth (Deut. 32:4; 1 Kings 8:24; 17:24; Psalms 25:10; 31:5;33:4; 57:10; 96:13; 100:5; 108:4; 117:2; 146:6; Jer. 10:10; Mic. 7:20; Rom. 3:3-7; Titus 1:2.

God's Word is Truth (2 Sam. 22:31; Psalms 119:160; Prov. 22:20,21; John 17:17; 21:24; Rev. 19:9).

The Christian Revelation is Truth (John 14:6; 17:17,19; 2 Cor. 4:2; Gal. 5:7; Eph. 1:13; 4:21; 2 Thess. 2:10-12; 1 Tim. 3:15; 4:3; Heb. 10:26; James 1:18; 5:19.

Truth required of men (Psalms 51:6; John 3:21; 1 peter 1:22).

God Bless,
Eve
