The Word was made Flesh And Dwelt Among Us (John 1:14).

Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God, Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 2:5). The world through its wisdom does not know God. (1Cor. 1:21) What appears to be foolish to man, pleases God. And that foolishness is "the preaching of the cross" "to save them that believe". (1 Cor. 1:18,20). Christ crucified is a stumblingblock to the Jew not called. Christ crucified is foolishness to the uncalled Greek. But to the called, those who are in Christ, we know Christ is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (1 Cor. 1:23,24). The foolishness of God is wiser than men (1 Cor. 1:25).

What is foolishness to men? that God would appear to man in the flesh; not only this but also that the He was crucified for our benefit. God did this according to "the hidden wisdom, which He ordained before the world unto our glory" (1 Cor. 2:7). It was so hidden that even the princes of this world did not know it; "for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." (1 Cor. 2:8). See that Scripture says, the "Lord of glory" was crucified! Christ crucified was for our redemption, "unto our glory". We become sealed in Christ, when we believe, by hearing the gospel message "the preaching of the cross". (Eph. 1:13,14).

The Saviour was made flesh because we are flesh. No Saviour can be merely man, because it is written that only God is Saviour and Redeemer (Isa.43:11, 14). And according to what is written we could not come unto our glory any other way. Christ died and was raised by the commandment of God (John 10:18), "becoming firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Cor. 15:20). Those who are born of man and woman and slept have a relationship to Adam. "For as in Adam all die" (1 Cor. 15:22). Only God could alter this process, crucifying the flesh and raising it. "...that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:" (1 Cor. 15:36). "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Cor. 15:22). When we are born, we are "in Adam", when we hear the "gospel" and believe, we are baptized into "Christ." (1Cor. 12:13, Gal. 3:26-28).

God created man in His Own image (Gen. 1:27). God had to enter this dead state of man, in order to raise it. By doing so, He became the firstfruit of those who are born of the Spirit from hearing the "gospel" and believing.

Christ walked upon this earth and it is recorded in the Four Gospels. His recorded life with man, was to show that, even when He fulfilled Old Testament Scripture, without a doubt He and the Father are One (John 10:30). He proved by His works, being heard and seen , that the flesh of man even physically alive was indeed dead. Scripture also proves that man in this deadened state could not draw from life from Him. When He appeared on earth in the flesh, further proved, that man did not know God at all. Therefore, once these things were revealed, God proceeded with His Divine Plan of Salvation for man.

We are "servants of sin" (Rom. 6:20) in the state we are born (in Adam). After the crucifixion and the gospel message went out to all the world, those who believe become "servants of righteousness" (Rom. 6:18), becoming "servants to God", having "fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." (Rom. 6:22).

Now Scripture says: "Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married (joined) to another, even to Him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God." (Rom. 7:4). Also, "For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death." (Rom. 7:5). Many lose understanding here because it is also written: "the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good." (Rom. 7:12). But what man fails to understand is, sin became intertwined so closely with the law as the very thing reviving sin bringing death to man. Man was created in the image of God to never see death. Scripture says, "And the commandment, which was ordained to life. (Rom. 7:10), sin took opportunity by the commandment deceiving and slewing man." (Rom. 7:11). The Law in man's carnal deadened state is his tombstone, the Law in man's risen state is written on the heart, and is life. But again one must hear the "gospel" and believe.

It is written: "And none can keep alive his own soul. A seed shall serve Him; It shall be accounted to the LORD for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare His righteousness unto a People that shall be born, That He hath done this." (Psalms 22:29-31).

David knew a new generation of man was coming, that is why it is written, David saying, "This shall be written for the generation to come And the people which shall be created shall praise THE LORD." (Psalm 102:18). That generation "shall come, and shall declare His righteousness unto a People that shall be born" (Psalm 22:31)... born of the Spirit. Of this generation it would be written, "His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works..." (Eph. 2:10). David says: "The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: Thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: Forsake not the works of Thine own hands." (Psalms 138:8). The LORD heard his prayer and today, we are that generation. Of the generation before us it is written: a generation "which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which He had done for Israel." (Judges 2:10).

The perfect Word of God put around Him an imperfect body (John 1:1-3,14), created for works, paying the debts in our stead, perfecting what we could not do by works. And our Saviour says: "I have finished the work which Thou gavest Me to do" (John 17:4). "...for the works which the Father hath given Me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of Me, that the Father hath sent Me.(John 5:36). What did the people say? "That God hath visited His People" (Luke 7:17).
